Interior painting

Walls, ceilings, doors, and trim, prepared properly and painted with the right finish for how each room is used.

What’s included

A painted room looks good for years when the surface underneath is sound. Before any paint goes on, we fill nail holes and dents, sand glossy surfaces so the new coat grips, caulk gaps along trim, and spot-prime repairs. Floors, fixtures, and furniture are covered and taped.

We then apply two finish coats to walls and ceilings, and cut in by hand along ceilings, corners, and trim so the lines stay straight without relying on tape alone.

Choosing a finish

Sheen matters as much as color. Flat and matte finishes hide small flaws and suit ceilings and bedrooms. Eggshell and satin are easier to wipe clean, which makes them a better choice for hallways, kitchens, and children’s rooms. Semi-gloss is hard-wearing and works well on doors and trim.

How long it takes

A typical bedroom takes one to two days, including preparation and drying time between coats. We agree the order of rooms with you before we start so the rest of the house stays usable.

If walls need more than minor filling, see drywall repair. New baseboards or casing? Plan them with trim and moulding so everything is painted once.

Where we offer interior painting

Common questions

Which paint do you use?

We recommend a paint for each room based on how it is used: washable finishes for hallways and kitchens, moisture-resistant ones for bathrooms. You can also choose your own brand and color. See interior painting for more.

Do you move furniture before you start?

We move and cover light furniture ourselves. Please clear small items, pictures, and anything fragile before we arrive, and let us know about any heavy pieces when you book.
